Jamie George was born to be in front of a microphone. At 19 years old he took his first step towards his radio career by interning at 1360 KUIK. It wasn't much but he had his foot in the door. On Friday nights he recorded one-minute sports weekend updates. After about nine months KUIK hired him on as a Saturday board operator. With the hiring came more opportunities for Jamie to get his voice on air. KUIK asked him to produce a news report to play on Monday mornings and to begin producing spots. He even had the opportunity to color commentate an opening day high school football game along side Travis Demers. Jamie was also the Sports Editor at the Advocat during his freshman year at Mt. Hood Community College. Decpite enjoying writing, he decided to put his focus back on broadcasting and steped down as the editor.
